the Canon ME20F-SH Full Frame Camcorder is perfect when you want to shoot footage in extreme low light conditions. This camcorder has a 2.26MP full-frame CMOS sensor and a maximum ISO of 4.56 million! With this photo sensitivity the ME20F-SH can literally see in the dark. The camera also provides the ability to capture infra-red in color.
In addition, the ME20F-SH features a rugged Cinema-Lock EF lens mount. As a result, the camera is compatible with a wide range of Canon EF zoom and prime lenses and a large part of the Canon cinema prime lenses. This Canon camcorder opens up a whole new world of possibilities for capturing for example nature documentaries, reality television productions and security images.
The amazing light sensitivity is made possible by a 20 x 36mm full-frame CMOS sensor with a 2.26MP resolution. This gives the sensor a sufficient resolution to deliver 1080p video and individual pixels of 19 microns in size. The combination of the ability of each pixel to absorb light, the Canon DIGIV DV4 processor and the patented noise reduction technology, results in a sensitivity of 0.0005 flux at a maximum ISO. So, it is no problem at all to capture the starry sky (with an f/1.2 lens at 29.97p and maximum sharpness).
Record and view videos and photos externally
The ME20F-SH has a compact, lightweight and minimalist design. This camcorder therefore has no internal recorder and built-in display. This means that recording and viewing of videos should be performed using an external device. The camera is equipped with two 3G/HD-SDI ports, and one HDMI port, to make it possible that you can connect an external monitor and recorder to the ME20F-SH. If you want to shoot on-site recordings, it is ideal to use the camcorder with a combination monitor/recorder, such as the Atomos Shogun.
Easy operation
The extensive options for automatic functions for exposure and focus, One-Shot AF and the automatic white balance, ensure that the ME20F-SH is easy to use and to configure. But it is also possible to control the recording settings completely yourself. It is also possible to quick and easy operate the camcorder remotely. With the Canon RC-V100 remote control you operate the built-in electronic ND filters (3-stops and 6 stops) and infrared filters.
