The Gitzo GK1542-82QD Mountaineer Kit Series 1 is a tripod set consisting of a GT1542 Mountaineer Tripod and a GH1382QD Center Ball Head. The Gitzo GT1542 Mountaineer Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a lightweight 4-piece tripod that perfectly supports DSLRs with 135 mm lenses (up to 200 mm). This professional tripod features Carbon eXact tubes with stiffer and larger leg diameters (top leg diameter is 25.3 mm) and high modulus carbon fiber in all leg sections, making this tripod stiffer and stronger than others in its category. The rapid center column of the tripod can be easily removed and converted to a ground level allowing photographers to capture a wide range of perspectives. It also has a reversible column mechanism. The legs of the Gitzo GT1542 have four sections secured by G-lock Ultra twist-locks, with a built-in O-ring that keeps dirt and dust out of the leg mechanism. The topspin of the tripod is newly designed for extra stiffness, and large leg angle selectors offer a wider grip area for adjustment of the leg angle. The tripod has a stabilizer hook on the center column to add weight and increase stability when needed. A large number of heads and other accessories can easily be added via the 1/4" and 3/8" mounting on the top disc.

The GH1382QD is a perfectly balanced, versatile tripod head designed to ensure the ultimate smoothness and precision of movement and secure locking. Supplied with the short, Arca-Swiss-compatible plate (GS5370SD) and also compatible with all G profile plates from D and most Arca-Swiss plates from other brands.
