The NiSi Nano IR ND8 3stops 150x150mm is a Neutral Density (ND) filter that evenly reduces the amount of light entering the lens. ND filters can enable more motion blur and image detail by allowing a large aperture and slow shutter speed. ND filters are also useful when the contrast between highlights and shadows is too high to get a quality exposure. The ND8 3-stop is often used for waterfalls and capturing water streams at shutter speeds of 0.5 seconds to 2 seconds.

NiSi ND filters do not affect the colour of the image, offer lifelike colour and are made of high-quality optical glass (not resin) with nano-coating to prevent the loss of even ééone detail. The use of a neutral density filter leaves the camera vulnerable to infrared light that will cast the unwanted red colour on photos when shooting with a small aperture. NiSi ND filters have an infrared protective coating layer to eliminate infrared light through the lens and bring back natural, true-to-life colour.
