The Ricoh Theta Z1 51GB is Ricoh's new flagship model, delivering the highest image quality in the Theta series. The Theta Z1 combines ease of use with stunning high performance. Capture natural 360° images at approximately 23 MP (6720 x 3360, 7K). The Theta Z1 features superior noise reduction, even when shooting at night or indoors in low light, thanks to its built-in 1.0-inch back-illuminated CMOS image sensor.
Although the camera is equipped with a large image sensor, its internal construction has been optimised to produce unprecedented high performance and high quality in this form factor. Ricoh has incorporated a newly developed lens unit that reduces image shadowing, flare, and purple fringing. The aperture mechanism has been redesigned with selectable settings of F2.1, F3.5, and F5.6. Closing down the aperture yields higher resolution. The Z1 supports a variety of shooting scenarios through a range of shooting modes and produces incredibly realistic spherical video in 4K (3840 x 1920, 29.97fps) quality. For the first time, it is possible to save in RAW (DNG) format, while simultaneously saving in JPEG as well. The Theta Z1 also supports live streaming of 360° content in 4K, delivering truly lifelike images of outstanding quality to the world.
The Ricoh Theta Z1 is equipped with a 4-channel microphone to independently capture sound from four different directions when recording video. The camera also records 4K video with 360° spatial audio for a more immersive VR experience. The magnesium alloy body combines a premium feel with robustness. The Z1 also features a display panel where you can check information such as battery level, the number of remaining shots, and the shooting mode.
