The Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art is a portrait lens for full-frame L-Mount cameras. The fixed focal length of 85mm is ideal for portraits: it frames your subject beautifully while keeping a comfortable working distance. Thanks to the large aperture of f/1.2, you can shoot in low light and create a soft, blurred background. The 13 aperture blades keep highlights in the out-of-focus background beautifully round, even when you stop down slightly.
The lens renders fine details with great sharpness. Special glass elements minimise chromatic aberration and other optical distortions. You can focus from as close as 84 centimetres, making it easy to capture faces and details up close.
The two HLA autofocus motors deliver fast and near-silent autofocus. When filming, the angle of view barely changes as you shift focus. The aperture ring lets you adjust the opening with ease. You can disable the click stops for smooth adjustments, and assign functions to the two AFL buttons via a compatible camera.
This Sigma lens weighs 905 grams and features a dust- and splash-resistant housing. The water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element makes cleaning easier. All of this makes the lens well suited for portrait photography and video, both in the studio and on location.
