SmallRig 5187 Cage for Sony Alpha 1 II / Alpha 9 III
The SmallRig 5187 Cage for Sony Alpha 1 II / Alpha 9 III is designed to provide camera protection and expansion options. It features SmallRig's patented HawkLock quick-release NATO rail and Arca-Swiss plate, enabling secure and seamless one-click self-lock mounting to optional HawkLock accessories, such as side handles (SmallRig ID 4485), quick-release mounting plates (SmallRig ID 4486) and top handles (SmallRig ID 4483).
The three-point anti-deflection locking design secures the camera securely with two 1/4"-20 screws on the bottom and right sides, along with an M4 positioning pin at the bottom, eliminating the need to remove the D-rings. Built-in pads provide all-round protection and prevent scratches. In addition, a hinged door near the battery compartment improves grip by providing extra support for the little finger.
This cage integrates a variety of mounting interfaces, including 1/4"-20 threaded and positioning holes, ARRI 3/8"-16 positioning holes, and a HawkLock NATO rail for attaching separately available top handles (SmallRig ID 3765, 4757) or side handles (SmallRig ID 4755), enabling smooth and stable camera movements.
It also features a cold shoe attachment for attaching devices such as the DJI MIC II and LED video lights, as well as a lower 1/4"-20 threaded hole for mounting on desktop tripods or DJI RS Mini quick-release plates for use with stabilisers. The Arca-Swiss quick-release plate allows for quick switching between handheld, Arca-type tripod or gimbal (DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro) shooting.
Further, the cage features a QD connector for attaching shoulder straps, along with strap slots on both sides and the bottom for attaching optional wrist straps (SmallRig ID 3848), shoulder straps (SmallRig ID PSC2428, 4882) and additional accessories. It also comes with a magnetic key at the bottom for easy disassembly and assembly.
