This makes it easier to work in low light and to accurately control the depth of field. An advanced optical design includes a couple of aspherical elements and three partial dispersion elements. These work together to help suppress both spherical and chromatic aberrations for more sharpness, clarity and colour reproduction.

The floating element design ensures consistent image quality across the focus range. The lens's manual focus design allows you to focus on subjects as close as 25cm away. The lens includes a click switch, which allows you to turn off the click of the aperture ring for a smooth, quiet exposure setting for film recording applications.
