The Vortex Viper HD 12x50 Binocular is designed to perform in low light situations. The lenses are made of High Density (HD) Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass with a phase-corrected apochromatic optical system that produces images that are clear and fresh, with true color transmission over the entire field of vision without distortion. Each optical surface is equipped with a Vortex XR coating. This non-reflective coating guarantees minimal light loss and maximum light transmission through the lenses. The roof prisms are provided with coatings that transmit as much light as possible. These binoculars can withstand heavy usage. External surfaces contain ArmorTek coatings that protect not only against scratches, but also against oil and dirt. The optical tubes are filled with argon gas and sealed with O-rings to make them water and fog resistant. The Viper has a central focus wheel that can be easily operated with one hand. The rubber housing provides a secure grip and also provides protection against falls and bumps.
