The Zeiss Batis 40mm F2.0 CF E-Mount lens offers a unique focal length with a close-focus design and is a Sony E-mount prime that is further characterized by its advanced optical lay-out. The innovative design of Batis lenses features an OLED screen that highlights the focus distance and depth of field for quickly recognizing your focus parameters, and the autofocus is handled by a linear motor that provides fast, quiet and smooth performance. With respect to optics, the lens uses a Distagon concept with a floating element design that maintains consistent sharpness and illumination throughout the entire focus range, and a range of aspherical and low-dispersion glass elements helps control both chromatic and spherical aberrations. A ZEISS T\* anti-reflective coating has also been applied to individual elements to suppress lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity, and the lens also has a dust and moisture-proof construction so that it can be used in harsh environments.
